Background: River Watch filed legal action to stop the continuing violation of effluent standards, failure to comply with NPDS permits and reporting requirements, and discharge of raw sewage and pollutants into the Pacific Ocean.
RW Action and Results: River Watch appreciates the support of the staff and community of Fort Bragg in their efforts to clean-up this pollution. The City of Fort Bragg conducted an audit of the collection and treatment facility and has agreed to improve systems to remove blockages in lines, televideo inspections of the sewer lines, install sand filters, among other projects to be completed by 2007. River Watch is proud to join the City of Fort Bragg in giving a grant approximately of $20,000 in remediation funds to the Noyo Watershed Alliance for environmental education.
